TURKPA participates in the Gala Opening Concert of the First Congress of Composers of the Turkic World

On 18 September 2026, Secretary of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations Dr. Kadir Yaman and Assistant to the TURKPA Secretary General Ms. Takhmina Bakieva participated in the Gala Opening Concert of the First Congress of Composers of the Turkic World, held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The concert was organized within the framework of the XVIII Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, in cooperation with the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku, the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.

Prior to the concert, participants visited an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.

The concert program featured works by composers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary, performed by the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli under the baton of conductor Fuad Ibrahimov, with soloists Sándor László (violin), Nijat Salmanov (flute) and Alim Sadikhov (oboe).
