Parliamentarians from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan visited the International Secretariat of TURKPA

On 11 June 2026, a delegation of parliamentarians from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan visited the International Secretariat of TURKPA and met with the Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan within the framework of a parliamentary exchange visit between the two countries.

The delegation comprised Guldara Nurumova, Member of the Committee on Social and Cultural Development of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Co-Chair of the Global TB Caucus for Parliamentarians in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region; Azhar Sagandykova, Member of the Committee on Ecology and Natural Resource Management of the Parliament of Kazakhstan; Alesya Matusevich, Regional Manager for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Tobacco Control Programme Lead at the Global TB Caucus; Kamil Hajiyev, Assistant to Parvana Valiyeva, Member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan; and Leyla Nagiyeva, Interpreter.

The Secretary General of TURKPA Ambassador Ramil Hasan briefed the delegation on the activities of TURKPA and its International Secretariat.

The parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed the importance of parliamentary dialogue and international cooperation in these areas.

The meeting was also attended by TURKPA Deputy Secretaries General Talgat Aduov and Muhammet Alper Hayali, Acting Deputy Secretary General Bektur Bazakechov, as well as Acting Secretary of Commission Mirlan Usenkanov.
