Today, 15 December, the Turkic World observes an important milestone: World Turkic Language Family Day, officially proclaimed at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference on 3 November 2025 in Samarkand.
This commemorative day underscores the profound cultural heritage of the Turkic languages and their vital role as a unifying element in strengthening the shared identity, values, and historical continuity of the Turkic peoples. UNESCO’s recognition of this day attests to the increasing international acknowledgment of the Turkic World and its longstanding contribution to global cultural diversity and intercivilizational dialogue.
On behalf of the International Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), and in my personal capacity, I am honoured to extend my sincere congratulations to all member and observer states on this notable occasion. I also reaffirm TURKPA’s unwavering commitment to supporting the preservation, enrichment, and promotion of the invaluable linguistic heritage of the Turkic peoples.
