Message of H.E. Ambassador Ramil Hasan Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), on the 18th March Çanakkale Victory

I extend my sincere congratulations to the brotherly Turkish people on the occasion of the 18 March Commemoration of Martyrs Day and the 111th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory.

March 18 holds a distinguished place in history as a concrete symbol of the Turkish nation’s unwavering devotion to its homeland and its readiness to make any sacrifice when independence is at stake. The epic written in Çanakkale stands not only as a military triumph, but also as a testament to the unity, faith, and determination of the nation.

The Azerbaijani soldiers laid to rest at the Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial remain enduring symbols of the brotherhood between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, reflecting the deep-rooted ties and shared destiny that bind our peoples. This sacred legacy is a powerful manifestation of the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world.

The spirit of March 18 continues to preserve its significance even today, serving both as a source of inspiration and as a guiding path for the Turkic world. It remains one of the strongest foundations of our shared ideals, reinforcing unity, solidarity, and a common vision for the future.

On this solemn occasion, I respectfully commemorate with mercy, gratitude, and reverence the heroic sons of the Turkic world who laid down their lives in Çanakkale, as well as our martyrs and veterans, foremost among them Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
