TURKPA took part in the Regional Dialogue dedicated to the role of sustainable energy centres

On 10 September 2026, Aynura Abutalibova, Secretary of the TURKPA Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection, participated in the Regional Dialogue on the Role of Sustainable Energy Centres in Promoting Climate Resilience, Innovation and the Energy Transition, held in Baku on the sidelines of the Fourth Climate Week of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The event was jointly organized by the Economic Cooperation Organization Clean Energy Centre (CECECO) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organiation (UNIDO) Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC).

Following the opening remarks by Mr. Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues, keynote speeches were elivered by Ms. Nigar Arpadarai, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Saken Kalkamanov, Chairman of the Board of the NJSC International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center of Kazakhstan, and Ms. Marinette Gaillon, Project Administrator at UNIDO.

The opening session was followed by a panel discussion entitled “Strengthening Regional Partnerships for the Energy Transition: Delivering the Sustainable Development Goals through International Cooperation.” The panel brought together Mr. Dmytro Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan; Ms. Nigar Arpadara, Member of Parliament and COP29 High-Level Champion; Ms. Nadia Chioukh, Director of International Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships at the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and Ms. Aysel Yagubova, Executive Director of CECECO.

The Regional Dialogue provided a valuable platform for regional collaboration and emphasized key issues related to artificial intelligence and digital innovation in energy systems, scientific opportunities to strengthen climate resilience, national energy efficiency plans, and the importance of international cooperation in advancing the energy transition.
